Plans include constructing a parish hall, a gymnasium, and relocating the preschool to the current school building. The soccer field will also be moved to a new location on campus due to construction.
Our first task is relocating Holy Sepulcher Pre-School into the existing school building, taking advantage of its enhanced security and the overall learning environment. The goal is to complete this phase before the start of the 2026 school year.
Before construction can begin on the hall and gym, we must fully repay our debt ($1.8 million), have 64% of the construction costs in cash, and secure the remaining necessary funding through pledges. Given these reasonable requirements and the inflationary effects of delaying construction, obtaining financial support is an urgent priority. Cash receipts will be spread over five years, and the construction is also expected to occur in phases.
We anticipate completing the construction phases within the five-year campaign period. However, the actual completion dates depend on the amount and timing of funds raised.
Each household in the parish will be asked to prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to the campaign. We are asking each family to prioritize the Forward in Faith and Hope campaign with their giving for the next five years. Each of us has been blessed in different ways. We are asking families to consider gifts of equal sacrifice, not equal amounts. Parishioners will be provided with gift charts for consideration.
Parishioners are encouraged to consider how much they can contribute over a five-year period. There will be options to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. Each family will be asked to make an initial payment on their pledge to help us meet our short-term financial needs.
It is essential to settle our debt before any construction on the hall and gym can begin. We have shared our proposed schedule with the Diocese for repaying the $1.8 million in loans and are very confident in our ability to follow that schedule. Construction cannot commence until the debt has been repaid, we have 64% of the building costs in cash, and all pledges are secured.
Yes, there are many ways to make and fulfill your pledge to the campaign. Please refer to our Ways to Give document to learn about all the ways you can support Forward in Faith and Hope.
Every household is asked to prayerfully consider making Forward in Faith and Hope their top priority for giving over the next five years. Each family should reflect on the sacrificial gift that is right for them. While progressing will be impossible without adequate financial support, contributions of time and talent are also valuable. Please contact a member of the campaign core team to discuss the best way to utilize your gifts to ensure success.
All registered households will receive campaign information via mail, providing them an opportunity to learn about the campaign and make their gift. Please visit the campaign page on our website and fill out the interest form to be contacted by a volunteer. Once you have decided, you can refer to our Ways to Give document to explore the options available to you.
We understand that different people have different priorities. As members of this parish, we have all benefited from the generosity of others in various ways. This campaign is our opportunity to pay that forward, together strengthening our Catholic community in southern Butler County. If you feel strongly that your gift should go toward a specific campaign project, please contact a member of the campaign core team to arrange a meeting to discuss. Rest assured, we will always honor the intentions of the donor.
When Saint Kilian was built, it responded to the rapid growth in our community. We are now beginning to see similar growth in Middlesex Township around Holy Sepulcher. Space at Saint Kilian is already at a premium. As our Catholic community continues to expand, our current facilities will no longer be sufficient to meet the parish's needs.
We are grateful for the leadership of Fr. Bober, who is guiding our parish through the Capital Campaign. He is joined by our dedicated co-chairs, Deacon Fred Lukachinsky and Sandy Matson. Together, they are working to help our parish grow in faith and ensure a strong future for our community. Please keep them, and the success of the campaign, in your prayers.
We request your prayerful support and participation over the next five years. Before we can begin construction, we must first clear our existing debt. Therefore, debt reduction will be the first campaign priority.
Together, we are one Saint Mark the Evangelist parish with a shared vision: one Church in the Body of Christ. We are not divided by the boundaries of Holy Sepulcher or Saint Kilian Churches. Our parish is growing, and we are called to support changes that will keep our community welcoming, vibrant, and prepared for the future. Every gift strengthens the whole; we are building not just facilities but a foundation for ministry, hospitality, and faith that benefits everyone. Our facilities will be accessible to all parishioners, regardless of the church where they attend Mass.
