We are pleased to share the news that Reverend Robert M. Miller has been appointed Administrator of Saint Mark Parish, effective July 13. Bishop Eckman is adopting the model in which a priest serves his first year at a new parish as an Administrator. After one year, he would then be appointed as Pastor.
Fr. Miller currently serves as Pastor of Saint John XXIII Parish and will bring to Saint Mark a deep love for the Church, a strong pastoral heart, and many years of experience in parish ministry. We look forward to welcoming him to our community and to the ways the Lord will continue to guide and bless our parish through his leadership.
Let us keep Fr. Miller, Saint Mark Parish, and Saint John XXIII Parish in our prayers during this time of transition, asking the Holy Spirit to grant all of us wisdom, peace, and unity in Christ.
Fr. Bob grew up in a rural area outside of Darlington, PA, as a member of the now closed St. Rose of Lima Parish. Ordained a priest in 1992, and a pastor since 2001.
He compares being pastor of a very large and active parish to being a juggler — trying to keep multiple balls in the air at the same time. But most of all, he simply strives to be a presence of Jesus in the community and to lead others closer to Christ.
Always in motion and full of energy, when he isn’t serving God’s people in the parish, you can often find him riding his bike on the Montour Trail, running through neighborhood streets, or working with the ultimate “fruit of the vine” in the rectory basement as a winemaker.
